About Me:

Aloha! The name's Matthew or Matt, whichever you prefer. I'm just your somewhat average gentleman looking for his place in this complex world. I'm a junior in college studying Psychology and Sociology. My focus right now is mainly school; I'm currently searching for a graduate program in Counseling and will most likely work past a Masters and strive for my Doctorate. I understand that's a long distance away, but I'm positive I can achieve this feat. I hope to utilize my degree(s) to pursue a career as a successful marriage counselor and/or college professor. – If I were to wrap up my life in a nutshell, I'd say: I'm trying to find religion(s) that match my philosophy in life, keep faith, gain a unique perspective on reality all the while trying to find that one woman to call my better half and to help me see life as undoubtly wonderful. That's pretty much the gist of it all, but I'll elaborate a bit more on who I am on a more personal level. – I honestly believe that I was born about 20 years too late; I feel that too many of my peers don't seem to match my ways of thinking, or maybe I just haven't met many that do, yet. I'm learning everyday more of who I really am and am attempting to change the traits I really don't like. I need to learn how to enjoy life more. I really need more friends, but I'm too introverted to find any…would you like to be my friend? I really think I'm a great guy! I'm playful, sincere, sarcastic, supportive, caring, patient, honest and optimistic. I may be a little too gentle-hearted and trust a little too easy sometimes, something I certainly believe may be one of my major flaws. However, I honestly believe that I understand people quite well and feel that I give damn-good advice to those who ask. Let's move on to music, shall we? – I'm quite an avid music listener. I'm really open-minded to almost any genre; I'm currently listening to a lot, the majority of it being: Post-Rock, Shoegazing (look it up, it's really cool), Alt-Rock, Heavy Metal, Deathcore, Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul and Indie. I recently discovered some great stuff from the UK including: Hard Trance and Dubstep (now that's some very original stuff). I'm also checking out some Punk, Pop, Blues, Oldies, Jazz and Classical. Find any other genres interesting? Let me know! - Put quite simply, music is a beautiful medium for what I feel and who I am. – I do enjoy films, but I really haven't seen many to have a decent conversation about them, but if I had a choice I'd pick something to watch out of the drama, romantic (yeah, I'll watch a chick flick), comedy or action genres. I'm not much of a reader either, unfortunately. – I love spending time with friends and loved ones. One thing I truly enjoy is sitting down, drinking a soda (preferably Dr. Pepper) or coffee, and talking with someone worthwhile for hours on end about everything in the world. Even though I am quite introverted, I really do love meeting new people, more specifically, people who are more on the normal, compassionate, and genuine side. Lastly, I find musical instruments very entertaining. I have a little dream to become a musical performer one day. I enjoy playing guitar and drums casually, but I need to learn to become efficient at both piano and guitar. And I would love to get my hands on a violin one day. Anyone care to provide lessons?! :) – What else would you like to know?
